The NDSL Series is a dedicated direct-drive servo drive within Sense Intelligence’s integrated drive and motion-control solution for high-end equipment applications. Designed for demanding motion-control applications, it combines exceptionally high control bandwidth with high-precision current sampling to deliver fast response, precise positioning, and smooth, stable motion.
Powered by Sense Intelligence’s proprietary high-speed current-loop control algorithm and designed to work seamlessly with the E2 and E3 Series motion controllers, the NDSL Series provides high-speed, high-precision control of linear motors and direct-drive (DD) motors. It is particularly well suited to applications where both speed and precision are critical, including semiconductor manufacturing, PCB production, display-panel equipment, and other high-end industrial machinery, especially equipment incorporating dual-drive gantry architectures.
The NDSL Series features a new hardware architecture and a dedicated direct-drive servo-control algorithm. When combined with linear or DD motors, the system delivers higher precision, faster dynamic response, smoother motion, and improved operating stability and reliability, making it an ideal solution for high-precision motion platforms.
The high-speed current-loop algorithm provides exceptional dynamic performance for direct-drive applications:
Current-loop frequency response bandwidth: >6 kHz
Current sampling resolution: 16-bit
Current-loop execution cycle: <1.6 μs
The NDSL Series incorporates automatic frequency-domain analysis to accurately identify system characteristics and significantly simplify servo tuning.
Automatic frequency-domain analysis for precise identification of mechanical and system characteristics
One-click parameter tuning for automatic configuration of the three servo control loops and vibration filters
Up to 50% reduction in tuning time compared with conventional auto-tuning methods
Filter frequency resolution: up to 0.5 Hz
The high-speed control architecture provides rapid response throughout the servo control system:
Position-loop cycle: 125 μs
Velocity-loop control cycle: 62.5 μs
Together, these capabilities enable the NDSL Series to deliver the high bandwidth, precision, and dynamic response required by next-generation high-performance motion platforms.
